INTRODUCING GERMAINE WEBB DESIGN

I think of my compositions as captured fragments of consciousness: objects, drawings, paintings, photographs, and other works of art.  They are spiritual sites in which the illustrated and the graphically designed are used to question our perceptions of the world through visual storytelling.  My arrangements are schematic, inviting the viewer to move into a space of speculation, digital and virtually.  I rely on sought after desires for beauty, poetics and positivity.

The work thus far has used the frame of the sequential page to propose an as of yet unexplored history of storytelling, and in the process, point to stereotypes of difference, which are hidden in plain sight.  I have found the histories of surrealism and minimalism to be useful in the rearranging of received ideas. The art I create whether as illustration or as graphic design are placed in the vein of truthful art, in hopes of making visible what is overlooked in the development of the artist.  This respect for the medium has always been grounded in truth and aesthetics.
